BTS Beat A Huge Taylor Swift Record, YouTube Backlash, and here comes Nicki!
BTS have yet another record to add to impressive list of achievements
This is an opinion piece by yours truly, so let's dive in shall we? :)
NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN

BTS continues to do what they do best, break records.
When BTS "Fake Love" didn't break Taylor Swift's 24 hour youtube record I had a prediction:
I stan Taylor all day every day but I’m telling you right now ARMY is going to break that record one day.

If at first you don't succeed, try try again.
BTS' "Idol" music video racked up over 56 million views on youtube within the first day of its release. The record previously belonged to Swift for her "Look What You Made Me Do" music video, which had 43 million views in its first 24 hours.
Taylor's Swift's beloved fanbase (called Swifties) were gracious about it:
We want to congratulate #BTS and the #BTSARMY for the massive success of of "#IDOL" and #Answer!" They are projected to get 50M+ views in 1 day which would surpass Taylor's 43M view record for LWYMMD.

As a program director I can tell you this: No woman on Taylor's level has continued to partner with radio like Taylor Swift has and that's why I will always love her. I interviewed Ed Sheeran and asked him the best advice Taylor ever gave him and he told me "She told me to always work with radio".
YOUTUBE BACKLASH
I'll be honest, I knew anti's and bots were going to contribute to the BTS 24 hour youtube record to try to ruin it. So I was predicting about 3-4 million views shaved off. What I didn't expect was this:
Congratulations to BTS! 'IDOL' now holds the record for the biggest music video debut in YouTube history, earning over 45 million views in its first 24 hours. https://t.co/ZqZmVpbIJF pic.twitter.com/G3cx51eRmC

Of course the BTS ARMY had questions:
How can 56.2M dropped to 45M?? And what exactly is the figure? Over 45M??? What is the exact figure.. Where is our 11M views? Where is Our views during you froze our views for 12hours?? Who are you trying to fool here

At the time of this post Youtube has not answered nor explained what happened to 11 million views on "IDOL" and why the video was froze for hours.
The record had been broken but many ARMY felt disappointed with the outcome, including Columbia Records who sent an email out with this picture
Here's the new CR promo! Take a good look at it --!

Make no mistake that was 100% shade to Youtube and Columbia's way of saying "We saw the numbers and we believe ARMY."
HERE COME THE BARBZ
Nicki Minaj is a legend in the rap game.
Female artists with the most Billboard Hot 100 entries:
#1 • @NICKIMINAJ | 97
#2 • @taylorswift13 | 77
#3 • @ArethaFranklin | 73
#4 • @rihanna | 61
#5 • @Beyonce | 59 pic.twitter.com/Sl3JN5sLGl

Nicki's grind, accomplishments, and longevity in a male dominated genre seals the deal on her legacy.
So when Nicki wasn't #1 with her recent album "Queen", she voiced her opinion on twitter:
Travis sold over 50K of these. With no requirement of redeeming the album! With no dates for a tour, etc. I spoke to him. He knows he doesn’t have the #1 album this week. I love my fans for the #1 album in AMERICA! I’ll explain on #QueenRadio 4 albums in, #1 in 86 countries ♥️ pic.twitter.com/CiYEuczgm3

Nicki's album "Queen" did VERY well but it's clear she wanted that number one. And what Nicki wants, the Barbz get.
MY PREDICTION:
BTS AND NICKI MINAJ IN ONE MUSIC VIDEO?? pic.twitter.com/ckQ2Wpje3P

When the video for "Idol" drops feat Nicki Minaj, ARMY and BARBZ are going to team up and not only break the 24 hour youtube record but smash it to smithereens, leaving no doubt who are the Kings and Queen.
And BTS and Nicki Minaj will get the #1 they deserve.
