Matthew Perry Posts First Instagram, Welcomed by Jennifer Aniston With 'Friends' Gag

February 8, 2020

Chandler is officially on Instagram.

Matthew Perry made his first post on Friday with a GIF of Chandler doing a giddy dance.

“This is how thrilled I am to finally be on Instagram,” he captioned the clip. “So, here we go…”

The post came hours after fellow “Friends” alum Jennifer Aniston welcomed Perry to the platform with a nod to an iconic gag from the show.

“I’m shocked Matty is the last to join Instagram, considering he was a uh… umm… oh crap,” Aniston wrote, referencing a season 4 episode where Monica and Rachel lose their apartment after being unable to remember what Chandler does for work.

“Oh! A computer processing TRANSPONSTER,” she continued, alluding to the bonus round answer Rachel blurts out which, as Monica (played by Courteney Cox) immediately notifies her, “is not even a word!”

Aniston posted a clip of the scene, along with a throwback photo of her and Perry at the premiere of “Friends” co-star David Schwimmer’s 1998 film “Kissing a Fool.”

Aniston’s not the first of the “Friends” to shout out Perry’s new account.

On Thursday, Lisa Kudrow celebrated his joining with a post of her own.

Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay on the hit sitcom, shared a throwback pic of the two with the caption, "Finally!!! Yay!! Can’t believe my eyes MY EYES Welcome to Instagram @mattyperry4 #friendsforlife”.

“Yay Matty! Could you TAKE any longer? --❤️” Aniston commented, while Cox added, “Yes Matty!!! ♥️.”

Since joining, Perry’s account has been verified. As of Saturday afternoon, his Instagram has 4.2 million followers.

Perry’s account makes him the last of the main cast to join the platform. It also comes amid reports that a “Friends” reunion is just a few signatures away. According to Deadline, the entire cast will get together for an unscripted reunion special on the upcoming HBO Max streaming platform.

Each of the main cast members, including Aniston, Kudrow, Perry, Cox, Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc, are projected to receive between $3 million and $4 million for the highly anticipated reunion special, per the report.
